Why is there a coordination fee? Shouldnt it be free if Im already paying membership?
Membership gives you access to the marketplace, KYB verification, and the tools. The coordination fee is how AquiCargo sustains itself as a platform – and it only applies when you close a real deal. If you dont close anything, you pay nothing extra. For comparison: a broker charges 2–5% of transaction value with no compliance backing. AquiCargos highest fee is 1.25% – with OFAC screening, TSRA documentation, and encrypted Deal Room included.
What happens if I submit an RFQ and receive no quotes?
The RFQ fee covers processing, routing, and distribution of the request to verified vendors. It does not guarantee quotes – no platform can. However, the routing system directs your RFQ to the most relevant active vendors by category, volume, and availability. RFQs without a response within 72 hours are automatically escalated to the next routing level.
How is annual volume calculated for the coordination fee?
Annual volume (GMV) is calculated on the total value of closed and confirmed transactions in AquiCargo over the prior 12 months. The system automatically applies the rate for your current tier. If you have $400K in GMV and then close a $200K deal, that specific deal is charged at the rate corresponding to the new cumulative volume.
Can I sell any product on AquiCargo?
No. AquiCargo operates under two authorized export corridors: TSRA (22 U.S.C. §7207) for food, agricultural products, and personal hygiene; and CDA §6004(c) for medicines and medical devices. The integrated eligibility checker automatically confirms which corridor applies to each product before you can list it or include it in an RFQ.
How long does KYB verification take?
The KYB process is automated. For U.S. vendors (Vendor Active and Priority): EIN validation, corporate documents, W-9, and OFAC SDN screening. The system processes documentation and issues a result within 24–72 business hours. For Cuban buyers: NIT, REEUP or Certificate of Incorporation depending on entity type, and MINCEX/MINCIN import authorization. Processing includes automated OCR of Spanish-language documents.
Do Founding Vendor slots have an expiration date?
There is no deadline – slots fill when all 25 spots are taken. Once full, the Founding Vendor price permanently moves to $2,199/year. Vendors who activated at the founding price keep $1,499/year as long as they maintain an active membership.
